The Orchestra is always keen to hear from new potential players, both in the orchestra itself and as soloists.

What instruments in particular ?

We are always interested in potential new string players, and at the moment we are particularly short of double basses.

What standard is required

The orchestra is made up of amateur, semi-professional and professional players. Anyone who is of a standard where they could consider a career in music performance (as a professional player and/or instrumental teacher) is warmly invited to contact the Musical Director with a view to playing in the orchestra:

Dr Jacoby would also be very interested to hear from potential soloists. We have helped a number of very talented local musicians in their early careers (Natalie Clein, Tim Orpen, Fiona Dalzell, Sophia Grech) and wish to continue this.
